Story / Motivation
The R5 Kitchen is characterized by adaptability and personalization and embodies the essential features of simple assembly and disassembly, expandability and flexibility. It reimagines kitchen standards through a modular cube structure, presenting a dynamic alternative to static kitchen designs.
The cube offers a multitude of customization options – either it’s a chopping station, a cooking or dishwashing module, or a storage unit. It is a true modular system that offers the freedom to adapt the kitchen to evolving spaces and individual needs. The design liberates itself from conventional architecture, enabling longevity. Its rearrangeable nature allows for varied formations, adapting seamlessly to different spatial layouts.
A key element is The R5 Connector, which acts as a hinge for the individual cube fronts. At the same time, it can act as a hook for kitchen towels or, in combination with a slim round pole, as a railing for kitchen utensils.
Each kitchen is composed of as many cubes as needed. These modules comprise plywood panels, square bars, round rods, and The R5 Connector. The round rods can be substituted with stainless steel tubes, enhancing the overall aesthetic and durability.
The range of adaptable features includes sinks, stovetops, stainless steel surfaces, leveling legs, and casters. Any additional add-ons, drive by personal needs and creativity, seamlessly integrate into the design. With a moderate level of craftsmanship, the fundamental design can be tailored with simple adjustments. For instance, transforming a module with an extended rear into a tool railing or partition for a freestanding unit showcases the kitchen’s versatility and adaptability.
